REPORTING TO: Project/Contracts Manager
Purpose of Role
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the Project/Contracts Manager in overseeing projects from initiation to completion, ensuring the project team delivers on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Role Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Project/Contracts Manager to develop and update the construction programme, ensuring key milestones are met.
- Assist in determining staff resources for the project and effectively communicate these requirements to the team.
- Implement the company’s Safety System and foster a strong safety culture on the project.
- Support the management of project quality throughout the lifecycle, ensuring build quality meets expectations.
- Help ensure project costs are managed, and prelims/packages are tightly controlled.
- Work with the commercial team to achieve the agreed commercial objectives for the project.
- Maintain positive relationships with the client team and assist in keeping them informed of claims and delays.
The Ideal Candidate
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience with a main contractor
- Experience in data centre projects and a strong engineering background are highly desirable.
- Proven ability to assist in the planning and delivery of complex projects.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders.
- Understanding of commercial realities and ability to propose cost-effective solutions.
- Proficient in MS Office and project scheduling software (or similar).
