About Our Client:
Our client, a global leader in the manufacturing and technology sector, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Automation Engineer to lead their automation projects in Galway. This role focuses on developing and implementing cutting-edge automation solutions to drive production efficiency and optimise processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced automation systems for production processes.
- Oversee the programming and configuration of PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems, ensuring seamless integration and operational efficiency.
- Manage complex automation projects from conception through to completion, ensuring all goals, timelines, and budgets are met.
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced issues related to automation systems and equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality departments, to drive automation improvements.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies in all automation activities.
- Evaluate and implement the latest automation technologies and methodologies to maintain a competitive edge in production.
- Maintain thorough documentation of automation processes, system updates, and project progress.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- Extensive experience (5+ years) as an Automation Engineer, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Expertise in PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale automation projects and manage multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication, leadership, and project management abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
