We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to join a leading medical device manufacturing company in Cork. What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and implement automation systems for medical device manufacturing processes
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems to optimize production efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver automation solutions that meet project specifications and timelines
  • Conduct validation, testing, and commissioning of automation systems in compliance with GMP and FDA regulations
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and performance
  • Provide technical support for existing automation systems, resolving faults and optimizing performance
  • Document automation processes and ensure compliance with quality standards

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Automation, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in automation engineering, preferably within a medical device or regulated industry
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), SCADA, and HMI systems
  • Familiarity with GMP, FDA regulations, and validation processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and process improvement
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a high-pressure environment
