We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to join a leading medical device manufacturing company in Cork. What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and implement automation systems for medical device manufacturing processes
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems to optimize production efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver automation solutions that meet project specifications and timelines
- Conduct validation, testing, and commissioning of automation systems in compliance with GMP and FDA regulations
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and performance
- Provide technical support for existing automation systems, resolving faults and optimizing performance
- Document automation processes and ensure compliance with quality standards
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Automation, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in automation engineering, preferably within a medical device or regulated industry
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), SCADA, and HMI systems
- Familiarity with GMP, FDA regulations, and validation processes
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and process improvement
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a high-pressure environment
