The Opportunity

We are recruiting for a leading MEP engineering contractor in Cork seeking an experienced BIM Coordinator specialising in mechanical systems. This is a key role within a high-performing digital construction team, responsible for the coordination and delivery of complex 3D models for large-scale pharmaceutical, data centre, and commercial projects.

This position offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of BIM technology, ensuring that mechanical designs are fully coordinated and ready for efficient on-site installation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Model Coordination: Lead the coordination of mechanical services (HVAC, piping, and plumbing) within a 3D environment, ensuring seamless integration with other trades and structural elements.

  • Clash Detection: Perform rigorous clash detection and resolution using Navisworks Manage, facilitating weekly coordination meetings with project stakeholders.

  • Standards & Compliance: Ensure all models and documentation adhere to project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and international standards (ISO 19650).

  • Technical Drafting: Produce high-quality 2D construction drawings, sections, and details derived from the 3D model for site installation teams.

  • BIM Management Support: Assist the BIM Manager in the setup and maintenance of Common Data Environments (CDE) such as Autodesk Construction Cloud or BIM 360.

  • Family Creation: Develop and manage Revit families and parametric components to improve modelling efficiency and accuracy.

Candidate Profile

  • Education: Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a dedicated BIM/CADD qualification.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a BIM-focused role, specifically within mechanical/MEP services.

  • Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP and Navisworks Manage is essential.

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical building services and the ability to interpret P&IDs and technical specifications.

  • Standards Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of BIM Level 2 requirements and the ISO 19650 suite of standards.

  • Attributes: A detail-oriented problem-solver with excellent communication skills and the ability to work to tight project deadlines.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: €55,000 – €70,000 per annum (Negotiable based on depth of Revit/Navisworks expertise).
