Civil Site Engineer

Talent Curve are currently recruiting for Site Engineer based in Cork to work with an Irish Contractor based who specialises in power infrastructure projects.

This client is going through a significant growth period and is looking for someone who is eager to progress with the business as it continues to grow.

The Role

  • Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the subcontractors.
  • Planning the work efficiently to meet programme deadlines.
  • Liaising with the Project Manager/planner regarding construction programme, programme constraints etc.,
  • Compliance with all safety requirements.
  • Resolving technical issues with employer’s representatives, suppliers, subcontractors, and statutory authorities.
  • Quality control in accordance with company procedures, method statements, quality plans and inspection and test plans.
  • Need to be familiar with the program and what implication any overrun will have in relation to costs.
  • Check/understand Specifications, Drawings, and other Contract Documents.
  • Setting out, levelling, and surveying the site in accordance with the Drawings and Specification.
  • Experience in works on large scale utility projects – ESB/Water/Telecoms.
  • CSCS Cards for LUGS & SLG.
  • Experience of working to purple books specification.
  • AutoCAD Experience for extracting information and preparing As-Built Information.

 

Requirements

  • A Level 8 degree in Civil Engineering (or similar) is not essential but is desirable.
  • 3 years site engineering and project management experience on large scale utilities projects
  • Knowledge and experience of working with Purple Book Specs, LUGS & SLG.
  • Knowledge of a broad range of civil engineering fields including geotechnics and structural.
  • Previous experience of civil engineering projects of renewable energy, HV substation or underground cable projects is desirable but not essential.
  • Holding or working towards Chartered Engineer status.
