Construction Contracts Manager (Civil)

Talent Curve are currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager for Civils Contractor based in Dublin

This is for an extremely successful Civils Contractor completing groundworks for Tier 1 Contractors.

 

The Role:

  • Build a strong relationship with clients, sub-contractors, sourcing representatives and wider client stakeholders across multiple business units.
  • Assist in the preparation of project documentation, programs, schedules, and execution plans.
  • Support the procurement functions in review and acceptance of subcontractors and acceptance of subcontract documents in line with the contract.
  • Deliver projects to the agreed schedule, scope, quality and budget.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of project reporting and forecasting.
  • Work closely with the HSQE team to manage and implement procedures across project sites.
  • Oversee budgets, valuations and costs whilst recognising contractual requirements.
  • Identify and initiate necessary change control processes.
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
  • Analyse, manage and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
  • Work with project teams to manage the workflow of subcontractors ensuring they comply with the programme of works on site.
  • Ensure staff you are responsible for understand their roles and responsibilities, and manage them accordingly by providing guidance and training as necessary.
  • Manage commercial relationships and ways of working with Clients and / or Consultants to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of works and services.
  • Lead contractual negotiations and provide guidance to Project Manager where necessary.
  • This role is dynamic and not limited to the tasks listed.

Requirements:

  • Formal education in construction management or similar field.
  • 5+ years’ in a similar role at a similar level.
  • Commercial knowledge and experience in quantity surveying and construction cost management.
  • Outstanding client relationship management skills with great client focus.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages.
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management.
  • Leadership management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of utilities and public works contracts.
