Construction Contracts Manager

An established and growing residential construction company is seeking an experienced Construction Contracts Manager to join its team in the South East. This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive developer delivering high-quality residential projects across Ireland.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the contractual, commercial and operational aspects of multiple construction projects, ensuring contracts are effectively administered, risks are managed, and projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management
- Prepare, review, negotiate and administer contracts with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure contractual obligations are met while protecting the company's commercial interests.
- Manage variations, claims, extensions of time (EOTs) and contractual correspondence.
- Provide contractual advice to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Commercial & Cost Control
- Work closely with commercial teams to monitor project costs and budgets.
- Support procurement activities and supply chain management.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities to maximise project profitability.
- Assist in resolving cost overruns and contractual issues.
Project Coordination
- Liaise with project managers, commercial teams, procurement, finance and legal departments.
- Support project planning and ensure contractual milestones are achieved.
- Help resolve contractual issues to minimise project delays.
Risk & Compliance
- Identify and manage contractual risks.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate contract documentation and project records.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Act as the primary contact for contractual matters throughout project delivery.
- Facilitate discussions to resolve commercial and contractual issues.
Dispute Resolution
- Assist in resolving contractual disputes through negotiation and collaboration.
- Support legal teams where arbitration or mediation is required.
Reporting
- Produce regular reports on contract performance, commercial risks and project progress.
- Provide updates to senior management on key contractual and commercial matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Business Law or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5-10 years' experience in construction contract management.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, commercial management and construction law.
- Experience managing contracts on large-scale construction projects.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.
- Experience using construction project management and cost control software.
