Design Engineer – Water / Wastewater Projects
Location: Co. Down
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000
Talent Curve are working with a well-established engineering contractor who specialise in the design, construction and maintenance of infrastructure projects across the water and wastewater sector. With a strong pipeline of work across Ireland and the UK, they are looking to bring a Design Engineer into their growing team. This role is easily commutable from Belfast, Lisburn, Portadown, Banbridge, North Down etc.
The Role
You’ll play a key role in delivering engineering designs from concept stage through to detailed design and construction support, working closely with project teams, clients and other engineering disciplines.
Responsibilities include developing design solutions, carrying out site surveys, producing detailed drawings and 3D models, and supporting projects through internal and client design reviews. You’ll also contribute to design risk assessments and ensure designs meet industry standards and client specifications.
Key Duties
- Develop engineering design solutions from concept through to detailed design
- Work with internal teams and clients to understand project requirements
- Attend site surveys to gather data and inform design decisions
- Produce detailed engineering designs using Revit (3D) and AutoCAD (2D)
- Support multi-disciplinary design coordination across projects
- Review and check design packages produced by other engineers
- Participate in technical review meetings including design and safety reviews
- Prepare and maintain design risk assessments
- Provide technical input across projects where required
What We’re Looking For
- Third level qualification in an Engineering related discipline (Mechanical, Manufacturing etc)
- 1+ years’ experience in a design engineering role
- Exposure to water or wastewater treatment processes would be advantageous
