Location: Limerick, Ireland

Salary: €60,000 - €80,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Job Description:

As a Design Manager for our client, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing the design process for their revolutionary building system. Working closely with their management team, you'll take ownership of all technical aspects of the design process to deliver exceptional building solutions for their clients. From conceptualisation to project handover, you'll ensure that every design meets their rigorous standards and exceeds client expectations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the design team to deliver creative and innovative design solutions.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Develop project briefs, design concepts, and presentations to effectively communicate design ideas to clients and project teams.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Review and provide feedback on design deliverables to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Lead the Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) and Design for Construction (DfC) workflow, from tender/concept stage to project handover/as-built drawings.
  • Ensure all project designs adhere to Building Regulations, client specifications, and their ISO-accredited Integrated Management System (H&S, Environmental, Quality).

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a design or design management role
  • In-depth knowledge of Irish Building Regulations and sector-specific specifications (education, commercial, healthcare).
  • Educational background in Architectural Technology or Engineering.
  • Proficiency in leveraging BIM processes using 2D and 3D design software (AutoCAD & Revit).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with key stakeholders.
  • Experience in a fast-paced project environment where effective communication and teamwork are essential.
