A leading and highly respected construction contractor is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join its specialist division in Co. Galway.

The Role

The successful Design Manager will take a leading role in managing and coordinating design teams within a modular environement.

You will work closely with internal departments, project teams, consultants and clients to ensure designs are delivered to the required quality, programme and commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate internal and external design teams.
• Lead, attend and coordinate design and departmental meetings.
• Ensure design work meets the required quality, technical and project standards.
• Coordinate closely with project managers, consultants and other internal departments.
• Develop and manage design delivery schedules.
• Delegate design responsibilities and review completed work.
• Support the production of high-quality structural drawings and technical designs.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and practical design solutions.
• Monitor design budgets and support effective cost management.
• Ensure client expectations and project requirements are met.
• Mentor, support and develop members of the design team.
• Deliver training and guidance on new design processes, standards and technologies.
• Drive collaboration between design, manufacturing and project delivery teams.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years' experience within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor, modular construction company, or design consultancy.
• Strong experience managing and coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational, planning and time management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
• A creative and practical approach to design, with strong attention to detail.
• Previous experience in modular, offsite or modern methods of construction would be highly advantageous.
