Electrical Commissioning Engineer

Electrical Commissioning Engineer – Cookstown
Full-Time | £41,500 - £50,000 | Weekly Pay

I’m working with a well-established engineering business based in Cookstown that delivers electrical, automation and drive solutions to industrial clients across Northern Ireland and beyond. Due to continued growth, they’re now looking to bring an Electrical Commissioning Engineer into the team.

This role suits someone who enjoys taking systems from install through to live operation, fault-finding under pressure and making sure equipment performs exactly as it should before handover.

The role
You’ll be responsible for commissioning electrical and control systems both in-house and on client sites. This will involve working with control panels, motors, drives and automation equipment, ensuring systems are tested, commissioned and operating safely and reliably.

Day to day, you’ll carry out pre-commissioning checks, cold and hot commissioning, functional testing and fault diagnosis. You’ll work closely with panel builders, electricians and engineers to resolve issues quickly and support project delivery and breakdown response when required.

What they’re looking for

  • Experience commissioning industrial electrical or control systems
  • Strong fault-finding skills across motors, drives, control panels and associated equipment
  • Comfortable working from electrical drawings and schematics
  • Experience with VSDs, motor control systems and industrial power distribution
  • PLC commissioning experience is an advantage but not essential
  • A calm, methodical problem-solver who works well on-site and with customers
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as part of the role

What’s on offer

  • Competitive salary, negotiable depending on experience
  • Weekly pay
  • Company pension scheme
  • Fully paid private healthcare for you, your partner and children
  • Death in service life insurance
  • Refer-a-friend scheme
  • Clear progression opportunities within a growing engineering and automation business
