Engineering Manager – Electrical

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the electrical engineering team behind a range of heavy equipment. You’ll oversee projects from concept through to production release, providing technical guidance, making key decisions, and ensuring deliverables meet budget, schedule, and quality targets. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll influence product development, support innovation, and drive continuous improvement across the engineering function.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and mentor the electrical engineering team, supporting career development and recruitment of new talent
  • Manage engineering projects end-to-end, ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met
  • Approve electrical design outputs and oversee change processes
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and regulations
  • Work closely with manufacturing to optimise designs for build, assembly, and service
  • Collaborate across Mechanical Engineering, Sales, Product Management, and Customer Care to deliver integrated solutions
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, design standardisation, and product performance

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Extensive experience designing electrical systems for heavy equipment, vehicles, or mobile machinery within an OEM or manufacturing environment
  • Strong skills in 2D/3D CAD (EPlan, SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical or similar)
  • Deep understanding of complex system design, electrical integration, and manufacturing processes
  • Track record of managing projects across the full product lifecycle
  • Experience with regulated engineering environments and safety standards
  • Proven ability to implement process improvements or design standardisation initiatives
