Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Maintenance Technician
FMCG Manufacturing
Lisburn
Permanent

Talent Curve is working with a well-established FMCG manufacturer operating in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. They’re looking to add a hands-on Maintenance Technician to their site in Lisburn – someone who’s comfortable fault-finding, keeping lines moving, and improving reliability across the plant.

This is a solid long-term opportunity within a structured engineering team, offering exposure to modern automation, PLC-controlled machinery, and continuous improvement projects.

The role
You’ll be responsible for keeping production running smoothly through a mix of reactive and preventative maintenance. The site operates high-speed packaging and processing equipment, so downtime matters.

Key responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving breakdowns, carrying out planned and corrective maintenance on PLC-controlled machinery, completing inspections, identifying issues before they escalate, and maintaining accurate records through a mobile maintenance management system. You’ll also support improvements in reliability and efficiency, working closely with production, quality, and engineering teams while maintaining high health & safety standards.

Shift pattern
The role operates a 2 weeks days / 2 weeks nights / 3x12-hour shifts rotation – ideal for someone looking for continuity and structured hours over a 4-week cycle.

What we’re looking for
You’ll be a time-served Maintenance Technician with a background in FMCG, food, or beverage manufacturing. You’re comfortable reading electrical and mechanical drawings, fault-finding across automated systems, and taking ownership of issues from diagnosis through to resolution.

Essential criteria includes a time-served apprenticeship or equivalent higher-level qualification in Electrical, Automation, or Mechatronics engineering, at least three years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, strong troubleshooting skills, and a solid understanding of control systems. A strong safety mindset and the ability to work cross-functionally are key.

Nice to have
Experience as a time-served Electrical, Electronic, or Automation Engineer would be an advantage, as would strong Siemens PLC knowledge or a third-level engineering qualification. Extensive FMCG or beverage manufacturing experience is also a plus.

Why consider it?
This is a stable, permanent role within a well-invested manufacturing operation that values engineering standards, continuous improvement, and teamwork. You’ll be working with modern equipment in an environment where good maintenance genuinely makes a difference.
