Electrical Quantity Surveyor

Our client, has proudly served the electrical sector for over two decades, specialising in both commercial and industrial projects. As part of their ongoing growth, they are excited to invite applications for an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Dublin.
Role Responsibilities:
- Commercial Management: Maximize financial returns on assigned projects.
- Monthly Reporting: Track and report on invoicing, orders, budgets, and forecasts to ensure project alignment.
- Subcontractor Management: Assist in drafting and managing subcontractor scopes and contract agreements.
- Supplier Coordination: Oversee commercial negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Claims Evaluation: Assess subcontractor claims and manage progress requests.
- Cost Reconciliation: Prepare precise cost/value reconciliation reports.
- Valuations: Prepare and negotiate interim valuations to benefit company financials.
- Final Accounts: Settle final accounts with subcontractors to optimize project margins.
- Subcontract Orders: Ensure subcontract orders comply with company procedures and procurement schedules.
- Cost Control: Manage and minimize costs associated with project variations.
- Cost Planning: Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop detailed and accurate project cost plans.
- Budget Preparation: Create budgets for subcontract packages and major materials in collaboration with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, and Engineer.
- Contract Review: Summarize key contractual points for the construction team.
- Subcontract Pricing: Prepare and review subcontract packages and major plant item quotes.
- Subcontract Documentation: Draft and finalize subcontract documents, ensuring all necessary approvals and documents are secured prior to site commencement.
- Expenditure Monitoring: Track project expenditures and prepare periodic financial reports and month-end reviews.
- Cashflow Forecasting: Maintain cashflow forecasts for individual projects and the company overall.
- Variation Costing: Work with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, and Engineer to cost and document all project variations.
- Contractual Compliance: Issue notifications and manage variations in accordance with contract timelines.
- Client Interaction: Collaborate with client/main contractor QS to justify costed variations and secure approvals.
- Progress Valuations: Prepare and submit progress valuations and follow up on payments in line with contract terms.
- Final Account Negotiation: Work with the Project Manager to prepare and negotiate final project accounts.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Quantity Surveying, ideally within the electrical sector.
- Numeracy & Detail: Strong numerical skills with keen attention to detail for budget preparation and valuation.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal abilities, capable of working collaboratively to achieve project goals.
- Initiative & Deadlines: Self-motivated with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Analytical Skills: Skilled in estimating and pricing through analytical approaches.
- Project Experience: Proven track record on medium to large-scale construction projects.
