Engineering Manager – Mechanical

I’m working with a leading engineering manufacturer who design and build highly specialised equipment used globally across a range of industrial environments. They’re investing heavily in new product development and are now looking to bring in an Engineering Manager to lead their mechanical function.

The Role

You’ll be leading the mechanical engineering team, taking ownership of projects from concept right through to production release.

Day to day, you’ll be:

– Leading and developing a team of mechanical engineers
– Driving engineering projects across the full product lifecycle
– Managing resource allocation across multiple programmes
– Acting as the key technical decision maker on complex design challenges
– Overseeing design reviews, validation and release processes
– Ensuring designs meet regulatory standards and customer requirements
– Owning engineering change processes and continuous improvement initiatives
– Working closely with manufacturing to ensure designs are buildable and efficient
– Collaborating with electrical, software, and commercial teams on integrated solutions
– Feeding back real-world performance data into product improvements

What You’ll Need

– Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
– Strong background designing heavy equipment, vehicles, or machinery
– Proven leadership experience within an engineering environment
– Experience managing projects across full product development lifecycle
– Strong 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks, Creo or similar)
– Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, hydraulics, and structural design
– Experience working to engineering standards and regulated environments
– Ability to drive improvements in engineering processes and systems
