The Opportunity
A Tier one construction contractor specialising in a wide range of high end projects across Ireland is seeking an experienced Estimator to join a high-performing estimating team in Dublin or Limerick.
This is an opportunity to work on high-profile projects with blue-chip clients within a fast-paced and commercially focused environment.
The Role
You will prepare accurate and competitive tenders, working closely with subcontractors, suppliers and internal commercial and project teams to develop robust project budgets and maximise commercial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates from drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Identify tender risks, opportunities and information gaps.
- Obtain and analyse competitive subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Manage cost databases, benchmarking and market pricing information.
- Assess packages, risks and value engineering opportunities.
- Work with Quantity Surveying, commercial and project teams throughout the tender process.
- Manage preliminary budgets and agree project budgets prior to handover.
- Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Monitor market trends, pricing movements and industry changes.
- Ensure tender submissions meet company procedures, governance and contractual requirements.
About You
- Third-level qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- 3+ years' experience in estimating or a similar commercial construction role.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, outputs and current labour, plant and material costs.
- Commercially astute with strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tender requirements and tight deadlines.
- Proactive, methodical and resilient, with a strong problem-solving approach.
- Comfortable working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
