Field Service Engineer – Medical Systems (Dublin)
The Opportunity
On behalf of a leading distributor and service provider of high-end medical equipment, we are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their Dublin-based team.
Our client is a premier partner to the HSE and private hospital groups across Ireland, specialising in Diagnostic Imaging (X-Ray, CT, Ultrasound), Surgical infrastructure, and advanced Healthtech solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work with world-class medical technology and receive industry-leading manufacturer training.
Core Responsibilities

Technical Support: Perform installation, commissioning, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs on a range of medical modalities, including diagnostic imaging and surgical systems.

Fault Diagnosis: Troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and software-based issues in high-pressure clinical environments.

Quality & Compliance: Ensure all service activities are documented to the highest standards, maintaining compliance with ISO 13485 and relevant electrical safety regulations.

Clinical Interaction: Provide technical briefings and training to clinical staff, radiologists, and hospital bio-medical departments.

Inventory Management: Manage a personal boot stock of spare parts and specialised tools to ensure high "first-time fix" rates.
Candidate Profile

Education: Degree or Diploma in Electronic, Electrical, or Biomedical Engineering.

Experience: 3+ years of experience in a field service role, ideally within the medical device sector (Imaging or Surgical experience is a distinct advantage).

Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in PC/Networking environments, electronic fault-finding, and mechanical assembly.

Attributes: Excellent communication skills and the professional empathy required to work within active hospital wards and theatres.

Logistics: Full, clean Irish driving licence and a willingness to participate in a weekend on-call rota.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: €50,000 – €60,000 per annum (Negotiable based on experience with specific medical modalities).
