An internationally operating Irish-owned engineering firm is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join its growing team. This is a permanent, full-time role based in Dundalk and involves significant domestic and international travel (50%+). The company specialises in advanced capital machinery for high-performance industrial applications, partnering with major global clients across Europe and the US.

The Opportunity:

This role would suit someone with a strong technical background in electromechanical systems, who enjoys hands-on work, international exposure, and customer-facing environments. You’ll play a key role in installations, troubleshooting, training, and technical support across client sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out start-up, commissioning, and operator training for machinery installations

  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and automation issues

  • Deliver technical support remotely and onsite

  • Maintain accurate service documentation and expense reports

  • Develop and deliver training material and formal training sessions for customers

  • Support R&D, engineering, and application studies when required

  • Travel extensively within Ireland and overseas (short notice travel possible)

What You’ll Need:

  • Minimum 1+ year experience in a field service or technical support role

  • Hands-on experience with automation, controls, and electromechanical equipment

  • Ability to read electrical drawings, troubleshoot electrical circuits, and wire to standard

  • Strong mechanical or CAD knowledge a plus

  • Confident communicator with a customer-first approach

  • Able to work independently and travel extensively

  • Proven experience using a structured support or reporting process

Nice to Have:

  • Background in capital equipment, automation systems, or plastics processing industries

  • Experience delivering customer training and technical documentation

  • Commercial awareness and stakeholder relationship management

Salary & Benefits:
