Graduate/Junior QS – Civil Engineering
We are now looking for a competent and dedicated Graduate/Junior or Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a busy civil engineering contractor who has long term work in Galway.
Reporting to the Senior Commercial team, the successful candidate will get the opportunity to work on projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the team in managing contract requirements.
- Prepare contract documents like bills of quantities etc.
- Dealing/liaising with clients, architects and anyone else involved in the process.
- Negotiation and analysis of costs for tenders/contracts.
- Production of information and detailed findings into reports
- Adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Produce accurate reports engaging with Sub-Contractors (quotes, raising S/C orders & processing applications for payment).
- Prepare & submit project budgets.
- Working with Project Manager & Site Team to ensure tight cost control.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Be Degree Qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar relevant Construction Management Degree.
- You will be highly motivated and eager to learn
- Ideally have experience working on Civil Engineering projects (Not Essential)
- Willingness to assume additional responsibilities in keeping with project requirements.
- Competent in information technology and in particular, relevant construction related packages.
- Team player.
- Well-developed communication skills.
- Problem solving ability.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Flexible approach to working hours and site locations in keeping with Company requirements.
