Group Facilities Manager

I’m currently recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing client for an experienced Group Facilities Manager to take responsibility for facilities, maintenance, utilities, infrastructure, and site services across a multi-site manufacturing operation in Dublin.

This is a senior leadership role within a manufacturing environment, suited to someone with strong facilities, maintenance, utilities, compliance, and project management experience. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational reliability, site compliance, asset performance, cost control, and continuous improvement across the group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage facilities, maintenance, utilities, infrastructure, and site services across multiple manufacturing sites
  • Develop and implement group-wide facilities standards, policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Oversee Planned Preventive Maintenance programmes to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability
  • Drive predictive maintenance, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage key site utilities including refrigeration, HVAC, boilers, compressed air, electrical distribution, water treatment, and fire protection systems
  • Coordinate planned shutdowns, infrastructure upgrades, utilities resilience projects, and energy optimisation initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, environmental, regulatory, and statutory standards
  • Maintain strict hygiene, contamination control, permit-to-work, LOTO, confined space, and contractor safety procedures
  • Support customer, regulatory, and internal audits across all sites
  • Manage contractors, service providers, RAMS, inductions, permits, supplier agreements, service contracts, and maintenance SLAs
  • Lead CAPEX projects including factory expansions, facility upgrades, production line installations, and energy reduction projects
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with operational requirements
  • Develop and manage annual facilities and maintenance budgets
  • Monitor maintenance spend, utilities costs, contractor expenditure, and CAPEX budgets
  • Produce KPI and facilities performance reports for senior management
  • Ensure effective use of CMMS systems and maintain accurate records, compliance documentation, and audit trails
  • Develop business continuity plans for critical utilities, outages, fire systems, and critical plant breakdowns
  • Drive operational resilience, spare parts strategy, sustainability, waste reduction, water conservation, and energy efficiency initiatives

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 7–10 years’ experience in facilities, maintenance, or operational leadership
  • Strong background in manufacturing environments
  • Previous multi-site management experience
  • Degree or trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or Facilities Management
  • Strong technical understanding of industrial utilities, production facilities, and building services
  • Proven experience managing contractors, suppliers, CAPEX projects, compliance systems, and budgets
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety, environmental, regulatory, and statutory compliance
  • Experience with CMMS systems such as PEMAC, SAP PM, or similar
  • Strong leadership, planning, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
  • IOSH / NEBOSH or project management qualifications would be beneficial
