Responsibilities:

  • Take a lead role in the safety department, assuming ownership of designated areas.
  • Represent our client at client meetings and external engagements, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Collaborate with external bodies such as ISO, HSA, local authorities, and National Training Bodies.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive training matrix for projects, ensuring compliance with booking, attendance, and data tracking.
  • Advocate for wellbeing, mental health, and environmental policies within the organisation.
  • Conduct audits, briefings, presentations, and toolbox talks (TBTs) with project teams.
  • Maintain the site Health & Safety Management System to a high standard, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
  • Investigate near misses, accidents, and incidents, implementing corrective actions and promoting a proactive safety culture.
  • Promote safety observation reporting (SOR) and encourage active participation from all team members.
  • Compile and present monthly and yearly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports to management.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and partners to uphold the highest standards of health and safety across all project phases.
  • Lead by example in areas of Covid-19 management, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance, and safety attitude.
  • Stay informed about and implement new health and safety strategies, including advancements in risk assessment methodologies and behavioural safety techniques.
  • Perform any other duties associated with the role as required.

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma or Equivalent Level 7 qualification on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF)
  • Full Clean Driver's Licence or working towards
  • Demonstrated passion for Health and Safety with an openness to new ideas
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite of software
  • Strong ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively
  • Proficient in English language, both oral and written
  • Previous experience in the construction industry preferred
