Junior Site Engineer – Residential Housing Projects
Location: Mallow, County Cork
Salary: €40,000 - €50,000 per annum
About the Role:
We are seeking a Junior Site Engineer to join a well-established residential construction company in Mallow, County Cork. As a Junior Site Engineer, you will assist in the day-to-day management of residential housing projects, ensuring the smooth delivery of high-quality homes. This role offers excellent opportunities for growth and development within a dynamic and supportive team, with hands-on experience in residential construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the day-to-day site operations, working closely with the Site Manager and Site Engineer.
- Carry out site surveys, measurements, and set-out work to ensure construction follows accurate engineering plans.
- Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with the project’s specifications, standards, and regulations.
- Provide technical support to subcontractors, ensuring correct methods and materials are used.
- Assist in monitoring and ensuring the quality of work and materials on-site, ensuring compliance with quality control standards.
- Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of site documentation, such as site diaries, daily reports, and safety logs.
- Monitor the health and safety standards on-site, ensuring that safety practices are strictly adhered to.
- Coordinate the timely delivery of materials and manage resources on-site to avoid delays.
- Assist in identifying and solving technical issues on-site, ensuring the project stays on track.
- Attend site meetings and liaise with the project team to provide updates on progress and resolve any concerns.
Key Requirements:
- A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Some prior experience or internship in a site-based role, ideally within residential construction, would be beneficial but not essential.
- Knowledge of construction techniques, particularly within the residential housing sector, is a plus.
- A strong understanding of health and safety regulations and their application on residential construction sites.
- Strong organisational and communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with knowledge of CAD or other construction-related software being advantageous.
