Talent Curve Recruitment is currently working with a well-established building contractor to recruit a Junior Estimator / Junior Quantity Surveyor who is keen to build a long-term career in Estimating.
Our client is an award-winning contractor, well known for their strong culture of mentoring, training, and developing staff. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive tender bid team, working closely with Senior Estimators who will provide ongoing guidance and support.
This role would suit an ambitious and motivated individual who is eager to challenge themselves and gain exposure to a wide range of projects, including commercial, healthcare, pharma, industrial, and residential developments.
The Role
- Review and assess tender documentation, including drawings, specifications, reports, and scopes of works
- Prepare consultant, subcontractor, and material packages for pricing using the latest estimating software
- Review and prepare cost analyses for consultants, subcontractors, and materials for comparison purposes
- Manage and maintain tender documentation throughout the tender process
- Price and review preliminaries for submission and senior management review
- Assist in the completion and return of tender submissions
- Support the preparation of project handover reports and associated documentation
- Maintain and update estimating data for reports and tender applications
Criteria
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a construction-related discipline
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience
- Previous experience with a main contractor is highly advantageous
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
- Full, clean driving licence
