Maintenance Fitter
Role Overview
On behalf of an established and rapidly growing Irish food manufacturing business, Talent Curve Recruitment is seeking a trade-qualified Mechanical Automation Maintenance Fitter to join an expanding engineering team.
Based at a high-volume manufacturing facility in the Midlands region, this role is vital to ensuring production continuity. You will manage preventative maintenance schedules, troubleshoot automated machinery, and provide efficient breakdown resolution to support continuous production output.
Position Details
- Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time
- Location: Midlands, Ireland (Commutable from Westmeath, Offaly, and Laois)
- Salary Range: €50,000 – €60,000 per annum (Dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Maximise the efficiency and capacity of all high-speed operational equipment across the production site.
- Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) routines in alignment with manufacturing demands.
- Respond rapidly and effectively to unexpected mechanical and automation breakdowns.
- Conduct thorough safety and quality testing on all repaired machinery before handing back to operators.
- Collaborate closely with the wider engineering and production departments to schedule service windows.
- Minimize product and material wastage while managing maintenance requirements within budgetary lines.
- Maintain rigorous standards of hygiene, food safety, and occupational health and safety across the facility.
- Contribute to the continuous development and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications & Candidate Requirements
- Education: Valid trade qualification as a Mechanical Automation Maintenance Fitter (MAMF) or equivalent.
- Experience: Proven mechanical maintenance background within a fast-moving manufacturing environment (FMCG, food, or beverage processing is highly advantageous).
- Technical Skills: Strong hands-on proficiency with pumps, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electro-pneumatic systems.
- Welding: Practical proficiency in TIG welding is considered a distinct advantage.
- Documentation: Proven capability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot using technical manuals and engineering schematics.
- Core Competencies: Strong organizational skills, clear communicative ability across multiple departments, and a sharp focus on health and safety compliance.
