Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a dedicated Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Coordinator to join their team in Cork. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting a variety of projects, ensuring the smooth coordination of mechanical and electrical systems throughout the construction process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient installation and integration of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and schedules to identify M&E requirements and deadlines.
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors to procure materials and equipment necessary for M&E installations.
- Monitor the progress of M&E works, identifying any issues or delays and implementing solutions to keep projects on track.
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Collaborate with design teams to resolve any design-related issues and optimise M&E layouts for efficiency and functionality.
- Provide technical expertise and support to project teams, assisting with troubleshooting and problem-solving as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical, electrical, or building services engineering.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry, preferably with exposure to a variety of projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and power distribution.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing M&E installations in Ireland.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Flexibility to travel to project sites as required.
