The Role
Talent Curve Recruitment is partnering with a market-leading engineering manufacturer in Dungannon to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer. Working within a highly skilled R&D team, you will take ownership of product design projects from conceptual sketches and prototyping through to final manufacturing drawing release.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Design: Create detailed 3D models, fabrication drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs) for complex machinery or equipment.
- Concept to Reality: Value-engineer existing product lines and develop innovative solutions for custom client orders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the production and fabrication teams on the workshop floor to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Testing & Prototyping: Assist with build trials, prototyping phases, and structural analysis to ensure maximum product durability.
- Documentation: Compile technical documentation, user manuals, and compliance records.
Requirements
- Education: Degree or Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience working as a Mechanical Design Engineer within a manufacturing, heavy machinery, or structural fabrication sector.
- Software Skills: High proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or Inventor).
- Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail with a strong understanding of fabrication processes, tolerances, and materials.
