Mechanical Engineer
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Reporting to: Project Manager/Engineering Manager

About the Role:

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their team based in Dublin. Reporting to the Project Manager/Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing mechanical projects, conducting site surveys, and providing technical support to the mechanical site management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with clients and assisting in managing mechanical projects.
  • Conducting site surveys and engineering inspection activities.
  • Analysing and reviewing mechanical design documents.
  • Writing mechanical specifications, troubleshooting, and solving problems.
  • Providing technical support to the mechanical site management team.
  • Managing mechanical documentation to ensure relevant registers and logs are up to date.
  • Managing mechanical system handovers with site-based commissioning specialists.
  • Evaluating RFI responses and ensuring engineering issues are resolved.
  • Ensuring the latest mechanical specifications and drawings are used by our client's Site Management.
  • Preparing mechanical technical submittals according to specifications.
  • Populating mechanical test packs and collating mechanical test record sheets for system completion.
  • Collating mechanical O&M manual documentation for inclusion in final handover documents.
  • Ensuring the project quality plan and associated mechanical inspection & test plan are followed for each mechanical system.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Third-level qualification or currently studying mechanical engineering or building services engineering.
  • Ability to work well within strict deadlines and on their initiative.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Mechanical knowledge and experience gained from either a trade or academic background.

Desirable:

  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD/SolidWorks.
  • Previous construction site experience.
  • HVAC or plumbing experience beneficial.

Additional Information:

  • Full-time position.
  • Salary is dependent on experience.
  • Position based on various mechanical projects.
  • Working time: 39 hours per week.
