Talent Curve Recruitment is managing a search for a Mechanical Estimator / Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join a leading mechanical and process engineering contractor in Co. Tipperary delivering high-spec mechanical packages, modular skids, and HVAC installations for blue-chip Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and Food & Beverage clients.

Core Responsibilities

  • Tendering: Lead the preparation of competitive mechanical tenders and cost estimates.

  • Take-offs: Perform detailed material take-offs from 2D drawings and 3D Revit models.

  • Cost Control: Monitor live project budgets, track expenditures, and produce monthly forecasts.

  • Contracts: Administer sub-contractor procurement, variations, and final accounts.

  • Sub-contractors: Negotiate rates and manage monthly valuation and payment cycles.

  • Client Liaison: Manage the agreement of variations and monthly valuations with client teams.

Candidate Profile

  • Education: Degree in QS, Construction Economics, Mechanical Engineering, or a senior trade background with proven commercial progression.

  • Experience: 3–6+ years in an estimating or QS role within the Irish mechanical contracting, building services, or industrial process sectors.

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical services (piping, HVAC, clean utilities, skids) and standard contracts.

  • Software: High proficiency in MS Excel and specialist take-off software (Cubit, Bluebeam, or Trimble).

  • Logistics: Full, clean Irish driving licence.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: €55,000 – €75,000 per annum (Negotiable based on experience).

  • Work Pattern: Standard office-based hours with hybrid flexibility.

  • Location: Co. Tipperary (Regional headquarters).
