Mechanical Fitter – Cookstown
Full-Time | £16 - £18ph | Weekly Pay
We’re working with a well-established engineering business based in Cookstown that’re growing steadily and are now looking to bring an experienced Mechanical Fitter into the team.
This is a hands-on role split between workshop-based work and on-site client support, ideal for someone who enjoys variety and taking ownership of mechanical jobs from strip-down to refit.
The role
You’ll be involved in mechanical maintenance, repair, overhaul and installation of rotating equipment, working both in-house at the Cookstown facility and on client sites.
Your day-to-day will include mechanical strip-downs, inspections and fault diagnosis, bearing and seal replacement, precision reassembly to specification, and supporting breakdowns and planned maintenance to minimise downtime. You’ll work closely with a skilled engineering team and be trusted to deliver quality work safely and on time.
Who they’ll consider
- Experienced Mechanical Fitters or time-served Mechanics with strong mechanical aptitude.
- Backgrounds in plant, HGV, agricultural, industrial or similar mechanical environments are all of interest.
- Hands-on experience with rotating or heavy mechanical equipment is ideal, but strong transferable skills will be considered.
- Welding experience (MIG, TIG etc.) is beneficial but not essential.
- A practical problem-solver who can work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in the Cookstown workshop and travel to client sites as required.
