Role Overview: The Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in supporting the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems for construction projects. Working closely with the project team, the successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of mechanical engineering, including design calculations, drafting, and coordination with stakeholders. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and development of mechanical systems for construction projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses to ensure system performance and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Prepare technical drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD software.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to integrate mechanical systems into overall project designs.
  • Assist in the selection and procurement of materials, equipment, and components for mechanical installations.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project requirements, identify potential issues, and provide technical solutions.
  • Participate in project meetings, reviews, and coordination efforts to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
  • Support the commissioning and testing of mechanical systems, troubleshoot any issues, and provide ongoing technical support as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for drafting and design.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform engineering calculations and simulations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within project timelines.
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Salary Range: The salary for the Mechanical Engineer role will be competitive and commensurate with the candidate's qualifications, experience, and skills. Typically, salaries for similar roles in the Dublin area range from £45,000 to £60,000 per annum, with the potential for performance-based bonuses and benefits. The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's expertise and fit for the role.
