Mechanical Project Engineer – Cork
Location: Cork
Salary: €50,000 – €70,000 DOE
Our client is a leading M&E Engineering contractor with a strong track record delivering large-scale, complex projects across a range of sectors in Ireland and Europe, including data centres, life sciences and pharma. They are now hiring a Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team in Cork.
This role suits an engineer looking to take ownership of mechanical scope on a live project, working closely with site management, subcontractors and the client through to handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical engineering scope from design through to installation and commissioning
- Coordinate mechanical subcontractors, monitor progress and resolve technical issues on site
- Review drawings, specifications and mechanical designs for accuracy and buildability
- Manage RFIs, submittals and technical queries with the design team and client
- Track programme, costs and materials for the mechanical package
- Ensure work is delivered to quality, safety and specification standards
- Support commissioning and handover documentation
What You'll Need
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer on large-scale M&E, mechanical or construction projects
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, process piping, plumbing)
- Comfortable managing subcontractors and site coordination
- Data centre, pharma or life sciences project experience an advantage
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
