Mechanical Supervisor – Residential & Apartments (Cork)
We are recruiting for a leading mechanical contractor in Cork seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor. This role is focused on the successful delivery of mechanical services for high-profile residential developments and multi-story apartment projects across the Cork region.
This is a key site leadership position for a supervisor who excels in managing high-density residential fit-outs, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to fast-paced construction programmes.
Core Responsibilities
- Site Leadership: Lead and coordinate on-site mechanical teams and sub-contractors (Plumbers, Fitters, and Duct-workers) to ensure project milestones are met.
- Systems Oversight: Manage the installation of residential mechanical services, including Heat Pumps, District Heating systems, MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery), and fire protection systems.
- Quality & BCAR: Oversee the "Right First Time" installation process. Manage all quality check sheets, pressure testing records, and documentation required for BCAR (Building Control Amendment Regulations) compliance.
- Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret mechanical schematics, floor plans, and riser details, ensuring all installations align with the design intent.
- Coordination: Liaise effectively with the Site Manager, Main Contractor, and other trades to resolve spatial clashes and maintain the build sequence.
- HSE: Champion a zero-harm safety culture, conducting daily briefings and ensuring full compliance with site-specific safety plans.
Candidate Profile
- Qualification: Fully qualified Plumber or Pipefitter (National Craft Certificate or equivalent).
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in mechanical contracting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role specifically on Residential or Apartment projects.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of modern domestic heating technologies (Air-to-Water), ventilation standards, and apartment fit-out logistics.
- Attributes: A proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills and the ability to drive productivity on large-scale sites.
- Essentials: Valid Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and a full, clean driving licence.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: €60,000 – €75,000 per annum (Negotiable based on residential project experience).
- Benefits: Company vehicle/fuel card, performance-related bonus, contributory pension, and career progression into Project Management.
