£35,000 - £45,000
Permanent – 4-day week
I’m working with a precision engineering company who produce complex, high-accuracy components for a range of sectors. They’ve invested heavily in modern machining, automation and metrology, and they’re now adding a Quality Engineer to their team.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be the go-to person for programming and operating the CMM, making sure parts match spec and helping maintain the company’s very high quality standards. It’s a hands-on role where you’ll inspect components, complete first article reports, and support continuous improvement across the workshop.
Day to day, you’ll be:
- Programming and running the CMM for component inspection
- Checking parts against drawings and specifications
- Carrying out detailed dimensional and visual inspections
- Handling First Article Inspections and completing reports
- Keeping inspection records accurate and up to date
- Working closely with production to resolve issues and drive quality improvements
What they’re looking for
- Strong background in high-precision CNC machining (3- and 5-axis environments)
- At least 2 years’ experience in a quality or inspection role
- Confident programming and operating a CMM (PC-DMIS experience ideal)
- Excellent drawing interpretation and metrology skills
- Someone meticulous, steady, and confident making quality decisions
- A collaborative mindset — able to work well with engineers, machinists and management
What you’ll get
- A 4-day working week as standard
- A modern, well-equipped workshop with proper investment in metrology
- The chance to make a real difference to product quality and process reliability
