Due to our continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all commercial aspects of clients projects, including rigorous cost control, budget management, and efficient subcontractor management.
  • Conduct precise and detailed cost estimates, procurement, and tender processes to support project delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure projects are delivered timely and cost-effectively.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks while maximizing project profitability.
  • Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms.
  • Monitor project financial performance and provide regular reports to senior management for informed decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team, fostering their professional growth.
  • Ensure the optimum commercial return for each project through accurate cost/value reconciliation reports and interim valuations.
  • Agree on final accounts with subcontractors to maximize project margins.
  • Maintain strict adherence to company procedures and timelines for sub-contract orders and procurement schedules.
  • Minimize the cost of variations and maintain control of accounts.

Person Specification:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, demonstrating a strong understanding of contracts and relevant regulations.
  • Experience within the M&E industry is highly desirable.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation and financial analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • RICS membership would be desirable but not essential.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software.
  • Hold a clean UK/ROI driver's license and be comfortable traveling to sites in the Greater Dublin area.
