Senior R&D Engineer

We’re working with a leading manufacturer in the materials handling sector who are continuing to grow and invest heavily in new product development. They’ve built a strong reputation and are known for designing high performance equipment used across quarrying, recycling and heavy industry.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing full lifecycle design projects from initial concept right through to build, testing and final delivery.
Day-to-day, you’ll be:
– Leading new product development projects from concept to market launch
– Managing multiple design projects at once, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
– Working closely with sales, production and other departments to support technical requirements
– Providing technical input for site visits and customer requirements
– Reviewing and approving engineering drawings
– Troubleshooting and resolving design issues with practical, workable solutions
– Driving continuous improvement across product design and performance
– Mentoring and developing junior engineers within the team
What They’re Looking For
– Strong background in design within a manufacturing environment
– Experience working with heavy machinery, ideally crushing, screening or similar equipment
– Proven track record in product development
– Solid CAD experience (SolidWorks or similar)
– Ability to manage projects and take ownership from start to finish
– Strong communication skills – you’ll be working across teams and mentoring others

– Good understanding of manufacturing processes and safety standards
