Service Engineer – Electro/Mechanical Systems (European Travel)
The Opportunity
We are partnering with a high-tech equipment manufacturer based in Co. Louth, seeking a skilled and highly motivated Electro/Mechanical Service Engineer. This role involves extensive travel throughout Europe (up to 50-70%) to provide critical installation, commissioning, maintenance, and technical support for sophisticated industrial machinery at customer sites.
This is a dynamic, client-facing role ideal for an engineer who thrives on independent problem-solving and global travel.
Core Responsibilities
The Service Engineer will be the primary technical contact for customers, ensuring equipment operates reliably and efficiently.

Installation & Commissioning: Lead the installation, testing, and final commissioning of complex electro-mechanical systems and new machine upgrades at customer sites across Europe.

Field Service & Diagnostics: Perform preventative maintenance (PPM) and rapid reactive breakdown support. Diagnose and rectify complex faults involving electrical circuits, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and precision mechanical components.

Client Support & Training: Provide expert technical training and hands-on guidance to client maintenance teams and operators. Build strong relationships with key European clients.

Documentation & Reporting: Complete accurate service reports, expense claims, and technical feedback documentation promptly. Ensure compliance with all site-specific safety regulations.

Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback to the internal R&D and Manufacturing teams to improve product design and serviceability.
Candidate Profile & Compensation
Essential Criteria

Trade Qualification (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Fitter) or a Degree/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a field service, commissioning, or maintenance role, specifically with complex, integrated electro-mechanical machinery.

Strong multi-skilled ability, with proven expertise in both electrical fault-finding (PLCs, drives) and mechanical repairs (gearboxes, actuators, hydraulics).

Must possess a full, clean driver’s license and be fully prepared for extensive, scheduled international travel across Europe (up to 70% travel commitment).

Excellent communication and professional presentation skills for effective client interaction.
