About the Company:
We are recruiting on behalf of a Tier 1 main contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering large-scale, high-quality projects across Ireland. They are seeking a Site Engineer to join their team on a major commercial project in Galway City, which is expected to last for 2 years.
Key Responsibilities:
Setting Out: Accurately set out and level the site, including foundations, structures, and utilities, using total stations, GPS, and other surveying equipment.
Quality Control: Ensure that all work is carried out in line with project specifications, drawings, and quality standards, and coordinate any necessary inspections.
Coordination: Liaise with the project management team, subcontractors, and site personnel to ensure the smooth progression of works on-site.
Health & Safety: Ensure all activities on site comply with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all team members and subcontractors.
Documentation: Maintain accurate site records, including daily progress reports, as-built drawings, and material orders. Ensure all relevant paperwork is updated and filed.
Problem Solving: Assist with resolving any technical issues that may arise on-site, ensuring they are dealt with quickly and effectively to avoid delays.
Communication: Liaise with clients, architects, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Site Engineer role, preferably on large commercial projects. Experience working with Tier 1 contractors is a strong advantage.
Qualifications: Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Technical Skills: Proficient in setting out using GPS and total stations, with excellent knowledge of AutoCAD and other relevant software.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of Irish building regulations, construction processes, and best practices for commercial projects.
Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and organizational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Problem Solving: A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a keen eye for detail and a focus on achieving high-quality results.
