About the Role

An established main contractor is seeking a Site Engineer to join its team in Galway. This is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale building and civil engineering projects with one of Ireland's leading construction companies, offering strong career progression and long-term development.

Key Responsibilities

• Set out works and provide clear information to site teams and subcontractors.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical information to ensure works are completed correctly.
• Carry out quality inspections, including reinforcement and concrete placement.
• Oversee material testing and concrete testing records.
• Review technical submissions before design team approval.
• Prepare technical method statements.
• Coordinate subcontractors and daily site activities.
• Manage traffic coordination on busy live construction sites.
• Maintain accurate site diaries and project records.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and environmental standards.
• Monitor surveying equipment and setting-out instruments.
• Attend site meetings and contribute to efficient project delivery.

Requirements

• Third-level qualification in Engineering.
• Previous experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar setting-out role.
• Experience working with a main contractor, subcontractor, or surveying firm.
• Experience coordinating works on busy construction sites.
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
