A well-established contractor specialising in Data Centres, Life Sciences, Aviation, High Value Manufacturing and commercial projects, is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a high-performing project team in Cork.

This is an opportunity to work on high-profile projects for blue-chip clients within a stimulating and technically demanding construction environment.

 

The Role

As Site Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest standards of quality.

The role would suit an experienced construction professional with a strong understanding of site delivery and the ability to lead teams and subcontractors effectively.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day site operations and ensure works are delivered safely, on time and to the required quality standards.
  • Ensure client expectations are met by delivering a high-quality product while maintaining professional relationships with design teams and client representatives.
  • Maintain the highest standards of health & safety, quality and client service, ensuring projects are completed safely, on programme, on budget and snag-free.
  • Provide accurate and timely progress reports to the Project Manager / Contracts Manager.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring works are completed to the required standard with minimal rework.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute works in accordance with contract documents and the project programme.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the construction management team, subcontractors and supply chain.
  • Resource and schedule works in line with the construction programme.
  • Work closely with the Project Quantity Surveyor, providing early visibility of upcoming issues and potential project impacts.

About You

You will ideally have:

  • In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and project execution.
  • Proven experience managing site operations on construction projects.
  • Strong client and stakeholder management skills.
  • A keen eye for quality and finishes, with a proven track record of delivering projects on programme.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and people-management abilities, with the ability to motivate and drive site teams and subcontractors.
  • The ability to remain composed and exercise sound judgement when working under pressure.
  • Good IT skills, including MS Office, MS Project or a similar scheduling package.
  • A commercially conscious approach, with an awareness of market conditions and competitor activity.
  • A proactive, self-starting approach to project delivery.
