A well-established contractor specialising in Data Centres, Life Sciences, Aviation, High Value Manufacturing and commercial projects, is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a high-performing project team in Cork.
This is an opportunity to work on high-profile projects for blue-chip clients within a stimulating and technically demanding construction environment.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest standards of quality.
The role would suit an experienced construction professional with a strong understanding of site delivery and the ability to lead teams and subcontractors effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day site operations and ensure works are delivered safely, on time and to the required quality standards.
- Ensure client expectations are met by delivering a high-quality product while maintaining professional relationships with design teams and client representatives.
- Maintain the highest standards of health & safety, quality and client service, ensuring projects are completed safely, on programme, on budget and snag-free.
- Provide accurate and timely progress reports to the Project Manager / Contracts Manager.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring works are completed to the required standard with minimal rework.
- Plan, coordinate and execute works in accordance with contract documents and the project programme.
- Maintain strong working relationships with the construction management team, subcontractors and supply chain.
- Resource and schedule works in line with the construction programme.
- Work closely with the Project Quantity Surveyor, providing early visibility of upcoming issues and potential project impacts.
About You
You will ideally have:
- In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and project execution.
- Proven experience managing site operations on construction projects.
- Strong client and stakeholder management skills.
- A keen eye for quality and finishes, with a proven track record of delivering projects on programme.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and people-management abilities, with the ability to motivate and drive site teams and subcontractors.
- The ability to remain composed and exercise sound judgement when working under pressure.
- Good IT skills, including MS Office, MS Project or a similar scheduling package.
- A commercially conscious approach, with an awareness of market conditions and competitor activity.
- A proactive, self-starting approach to project delivery.
