About the Company:
We are recruiting on behalf of an established main contractor with a solid reputation for delivering high-quality commercial projects. They are seeking a Site Manager to lead the delivery of a steel frame commercial project in Antrim. This project will run for 14 months and involves steel frame construction with brick and blockwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Supervision: Oversee all on-site activities, ensuring the steel frame and brick/block construction is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
- Project Planning: Work closely with the project management team to develop and manage a comprehensive project schedule, ensuring that key deadlines and milestones are met within budget.
- Team Leadership: Manage and coordinate site teams, including subcontractors and tradespeople, ensuring effective communication and smooth workflow throughout the project.
- Health & Safety: Take ownership of site health and safety, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and company safety policies. Regularly conduct safety briefings and inspections.
- Quality Control: Monitor all works to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards, particularly in relation to the steel frame, brick, and block components.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain regular communication with the client, architects, and engineers, providing progress updates and addressing any project-related issues or concerns.
- Problem Solving: Quickly identify and resolve any challenges or issues that may arise during construction, ensuring minimal disruption to the project schedule.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of site activities, including progress reports, material orders, and health and safety documentation.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience as a Site Manager on commercial construction projects, with specific experience in steel frame and brick/block construction.
- Qualifications: Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Alternatively, a strong trade background with relevant site management experience.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of Northern Ireland’s building regulations and commercial construction processes, especially steel frame and masonry.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage site teams effectively, with excellent organizational skills to keep the project on track.
- Health & Safety Focus: A proactive approach to health and safety, with a firm commitment to maintaining a safe site.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- IT Proficiency: Familiarity with site management software and general IT systems.
